What to expect at your visit

Visits are in person at our Suwanee and Lawrenceville offices or by secure video through Healthie, our HIPAA-compliant patient portal.

At your first visit

  • Medical, social and family history
  • A review of what and how you eat now
  • Lab results, medications and supplements
  • Lifestyle: sleep, stress, activity and schedule
  • Food preferences, culture and restrictions
  • 2–3 realistic goals you choose together with your dietitian

How to prepare

  • Complete your intake forms in the Healthie portal at least 48 hours before (we email you a link after booking)
  • Upload your insurance card (front and back) and photo ID
  • If you have Medicare or a plan that needs a referral, ask your doctor to fax it to 866-850-2765
  • Gather recent lab results (last 1–2 years) and photos of your supplement labels
  • For children: recent growth charts

Follow-up visits

Most people meet every week or every other week at first, then keep checking in as habits settle. Follow-ups track progress, review new labs and refine your plan. How many visits your insurance covers depends on your plan; we check before you book.

  • Celebrate wins and work through roadblocks
  • Food-journal feedback through the Healthie app
  • New recipes, grocery and dining-out strategies
  • Holiday, travel and special-event planning

Questions about visits

How long is the first appointment?

The first visit is the longest because it covers your full history. Follow-ups are shorter. You will see the exact length when you choose a time.

How often will I see my dietitian?

It depends on your goals. Most people meet every week or every other week at first, because steady check-ins are what turn a plan into lasting habits. Coverage for follow-ups depends on your plan, and we check it for you.

Can I switch between video and in-person visits?

Yes. Many patients do both. Just choose the visit type when you book.
