Does insurance cover a registered dietitian?
Most plans do. We are in-network with Aetna, Anthem/BCBS, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, Humana, Medicare, Oscar, Ambetter, Meritain and UMR. Many patients pay little or nothing, depending on their plan and diagnosis.
Do I need a referral?
Most commercial plans do not require one. Medicare and some HMO plans do. Doctors can fax referrals to 866-850-2765.
Can I see a dietitian online?
Yes. We offer secure video visits to patients in 25 states, plus in-person visits at our Suwanee and Lawrenceville, Georgia offices.
What is the difference between a dietitian and a nutritionist?
A registered dietitian (RD) has a degree in nutrition, a supervised internship and a national board exam, and is licensed in many states. "Nutritionist" is not a protected title. All of our clinicians are registered dietitians.
