Tube Feeding (Enteral Nutrition) & Nutrition Formulas
Living with a feeding tube, or caring for someone who has one, comes with a lot of questions: which formula, how much, on what schedule, and what to do when it does not sit well. Our dietitian works through it with you and your medical team.

Is this for you?
- You or a family member gets nutrition through a feeding tube at home
- You have questions about which formula is right, or how much to use
- You have bloating, diarrhea, constipation or nausea with feedings
- You are moving from tube feeding back toward eating by mouth
- You rely on nutrition shakes or oral supplements and want to get the most from them

Tube Feeding & Formulas: common questions
Do you place or change feeding tubes?
No. Tube placement and care stay with your doctor and home-health team. We focus on the nutrition: the formula, the amounts, the schedule and how you feel.
Can you help me get back to eating by mouth?
When your doctor and speech or swallow team say it is safe, we plan how to add food and reduce tube feedings while keeping your nutrition on track.
Can I make my own blended tube feeding?
Some people use blended or real-food formulas. We can talk through whether it fits your tube, condition and doctor’s advice, and how to make it safely.
Can a caregiver attend the visit?
Yes. Caregivers are welcome in person or on video, and often do much of the day-to-day feeding.
