The Nutrition Solutions for Me billing promise
Healthcare billing should be transparent and fair. Here's how we protect you while we wait for your insurance to confirm your costs:
- If insurance denies coverage after your visit: you will not be billed for visits that already happened. Those visits are on us.
- If you have a copay or coinsurance: you'll never pay more than the estimate you were given for visits completed before we receive final confirmation. Once confirmed, we'll notify you by email or text, and later visits are billed at the confirmed amount.
- If visits apply to your deductible: for visits completed before we confirm it, you choose: pay the deductible and keep using insurance, or decline and owe nothing for those past visits (future visits would be self-pay).

Frequently asked questions
Does insurance cover nutrition counseling?
Most plans do, either to treat a condition (such as diabetes, prediabetes, high cholesterol, obesity or PCOS) or as preventive care. Your exact coverage depends on your plan.
Do you verify my benefits?
Yes, we check your benefits before your first visit. It also helps if you check on your end: call the member services number on your insurance card and ask about "nutrition counseling" or "medical nutrition therapy" with a registered dietitian.
Do I need a referral?
Most commercial plans do not. Medicare and some HMO plans do. Doctors can fax referrals to 866-850-2765.
What if I am out of network or uninsured?
You can see us at self-pay rates. We also provide a superbill you can submit for possible out-of-network reimbursement. HSA and FSA cards are accepted.
Does Medicare cover a dietitian?
Medicare Part B covers medical nutrition therapy for diabetes and chronic kidney disease with a doctor’s referral. Other conditions are self-pay under Medicare.
